Clinton County Tour
Sunflowers

Clinton County has something for everyone to enjoy. The geography of the county includes the heavily forested mountains teeming with wildlife, the flowing river, and the wide, fertile valleys suited for farming.

Each October at the Clinton County Fairgrounds, people gather to watch chainsaw carvers create impressive sculptures at the HoosKow Chainsaw Carving Festival.

Held in Renovo, the Pennsylvania State Flaming Foliage Festival attracts 30,000 visitors each year to admire the impressive autumn colors, and watch a parade with floats and marching bands escorting a group of fall foliage Queen contestants.

Listen to live music all summer long as bands perform throughout Lock Haven’s downtown and along the Susquehanna River from a floating stage at the J. Doyle Corman Amphitheater. Music festivals held each year around the county attract bluegrass lovers, those who love a little bit of country or rock & roll, and those who can appreciate cool jazz and drivin’ blues.

Closing out summertime, you won’t want to miss the Labor Day Regatta. Live music, thrilling powerboat races, rides, games and delicious foods are followed by a grand fireworks display over the Susquehanna River.

For a relaxing time, take a scenic drive through our beautiful countryside, or explore a corn or sunflower maze. For a list of things to do and see, check out the calendar of events.

If you want to strike out on your own, the Visitors Bureau offers several fun options:

    • Mountain Laurel driving tours that take you along both paved and un-paved (forestry) roads to catch Pennsylvania’s state flower in bloom.

    • Scenic drives to help you get the best views of the fall foliage, the Amish at work, and our beautiful mountains and valleys.

If you’re in to geocaching, come grab a free passport from the Visitors Bureau office and head out on the Clinton County Traffic Safety GeoTrail (CCTS 2022) to find 20 caches “hidden” around the county. Each cache contains information on a different traffic safety topic, and each is hidden to highlight some of the area’s cool public spaces and businesses. There’s a special reward coin for all those who complete the geotrail!
